View from Gunnison Trail at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

This was taken on the Gunnison Route Trail that descends 1800ft in just a mile. There are virtually no switchbacks here and can be quite strenuous on the loose rock. It was well worth the effort though and can't wait to do another trail that takes you to the bottom. It does require a free wilderness permit, so get to the visitor center early to pick yours up if you are planning a hike down.
