I woke up this morning and drove 90 minutes to do a sunrise shot of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone but the fog was so thick in the canyon, you couldn't even see the waterfall. After getting some unexpected different shots of the canyon that turned out even better that I could have expected, I hit the road to see if there were any wolves in Hayden Valley. Unfortunately this is pretty typical of a Yellowstone morning and I would have to wait till the fog burned off before you could try and find wildlife in the valley. While I waited, the Yellowstone River was looking quite spectacular in that eerie setting as the sun started to burn through it, so I knew I had to get a shot in the interim.
